Aktoh Cyber urges finance teams to verify vendor bank-detail changes

Vendor payment redirection needs a separate verification step—not just a convincing invoice or a familiar sender.

Treat a new bank account as a separate request

Falls Church, Virginia — October 26, 2026. Aktoh Cyber calls attention to vendor bank-detail changes during busy invoice periods. A genuine supplier mailbox can be compromised, so matching the sender address is not sufficient. Compare the request with the approved vendor record and verify it independently.

Separate maintenance from payment approval

Use a known vendor phone number, require a second reviewer for master-data changes and retain the verification record. Define a risk-based waiting period where practical; waiting by itself is not authentication. Review unusual timing, urgency and unexpected contacts without treating any one signal as proof of fraud.

Ask qualified administrators to review SPF, DKIM and DMARC. These controls reduce certain forms of domain spoofing but do not stop look-alike domains or mail from a compromised legitimate account. Aktoh's Exposure Check samples do not validate your domain's email configuration.

Aktoh scope and next steps

Aktoh describes specialist roles for investigation and coordination, with consequential actions requiring human approval by default. Confirm supported connections, permissions, retention and escalation before relying on an automated workflow. This is not a promise to inspect every payment, prevent every loss or satisfy a regulatory obligation.

Takeaway. Assign an accountable reviewer, verify through trusted channels and test the controls before relying on them.
